Sometimes you find a coin that you just find irresistible. This coin is one of those coins for me. It is not the most extravagantly toned or a premium gem. It is a simple MS65 common date Morgan with basically monochromatic toning. The obverse is covered in mint green with lemon yellow highlights. I don't know why, buy I find the toning pattern absolutely captivating. The cheek is very clean and the strike is half decent for an "O" mint Morgan. I purchased this coin last December from Heritage for less than Numismedia Wholesale price. This coin is in the bottom ten with regards to price paid of my rainbow morgans but is in my top ten favorite toned Morgans. I was also pleasantly surprised when I received the coin from Heritage because their washed out photo simply did not do the coin justice. I was wondering, does anyone else have a relatively inexpensive coin in their collection that they consider one of their favorite coins. I would love to hear stories of other great finds.
I like it but not as much as some of your others , but like they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder , If you decide you don't like any of your others you can send them right over . rzage:smile:hatch::hammer:
honestly, it looks like a 4 yr old got a highlighter to it. what does electro(sp) toning mean or how does it tone that way do you mind explaining.
