Happy St. Patrick's day to all. In honor of the day I'm posting a green coin. And also a coin with a snake, since St. Patrick reputedly drove all the snakes out of Ireland. Feel free to post whatever is relevant.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, y'all. My state's governor shut down the bars and restaurants because of the coronavirus, so my own personal observations will be sober and rational, which is a departure for me. But healthy is always a good thing, so I'm not complaining. Here's one of my favorite greenies, a Justin II & Sophia follis of Constantinople: Faustina II posthumous sestertius, in a more subdued shade. That's Diana with a torch on the reverse, barely.

When I was a kid growing up on a farm, I had to pitch in with choirs around the barn. Child labour, since I was only eight My Dad, would at then end of the day allow me to have a cold beer with him He was a adventerous beer drinker, tried a new brand every week. On one occassion he got a 24 of Guiness. So, we opened up the ice cold brew, and down the hatch. First reaction, we spit it out, my first impression, 'it tasted like swamp water" I think he gave the rest away to the neighbour. That was the worst beer I had ever tasted! The opposite of Corona....
I enjoy doing the same by tasting different beers during my travels. I generally enjoy most beers. One type that I do not see as much, here in the States, that I like are the Alt-style Beers. A brand that I like is Carlsberg's Elephant Beer, which is more difficult to find locally. Otherwise, I try them all. Sometimes I do not a type or brand as much, but most are pretty good. Now, if we can move to a good Single-Malt Scotch, or various Armagnacs ... well, that becomes an even more fun story to explore... Elephant Beer Coin: (Kinda has that Guiness look patina, eh, John? Try it again, it should be served room temp, not cold. I don't think I have it cold but after reading this I don't think I will try. It is a heavy beer though. Cheers
I had a Drake Denogginizer with a bit of food coloring....plus some corned beef and cabbage. https://drinkdrakes.com/beers/denogginizer/ With a 9.75% alc content only drink one.
I know the feeling! I was trimming a clients cedar hedge last July, she came out and offered me a 500ml. ice cold Belgian Beer. I gladly accepted her nice gesture, and guzzled it down. I immediately went back up the ladder to trim the top of the hedge. Then, I started getting a buzz. I then noted that the beer was 12.8 % But it went down super smooth
Not as green as some that are posted! But a couple of green ones here. Spain, Arse Saguntum Spain, Castulo
