Cuba 1932 50 Centavos note

Found this in a stack of a few hundred currency bills from around the world. Most I've been able to research online, but this one is eluding me. I have three of them, in varying stages of decomposition. This one is the best, and it's in poor condition.
Does anyone know why I can't find any examples of this note ?

Interesting. It looks more like company scrip or something. Yours is good for 50 cents in raw tobacco....If I read it right.

And it's dated so it was used 1932 1933 the notes Steve referenced are not dated.

I agree. it seems like it could be a bit scarcer than official currency.

 

It is a tobacco stamp not scrip or currency. It was placed across the opening of a box of cigars and supposed to be broken when the box was first opened.

 

Thank you... I posted something similar about an hour ago but somehow it does not appear, having learned this is really in the Philatelic field, not the Numismatic field.
However, although I found a few Philatelic auctions showing the double stamp as indicated in the previous link, I can find nothing showing a stamp with a serial number or filled in dates. Interesting !

Yes, it has the word "tabaco" right on it.

"sello de garantia de procedencia provincal para el tabaco en rama"

means roughly:

"provincial guarantee of origin seal for raw tobacco"

It was probably very good tobacco if the rumors about Cuban cigars hold up (I don't smoke, so I don't really know).

 

I just received a email Heritage has some sweet Cuban notes for bid.

 

Cuban short shorter note ,also look at who printed it....bottom rev.

I haven't looked into it too much, but I believe Barber designed their coins, and they were minted in Philadelphia.

 

That is 100% correct,but refering to my note that was printed by BEP. Yes the US minted,and printed the Cuban money.

I may want to have this graded ,what your opinion ?
It has the tri fold folds , probably from being wallet kept.
The bill is crisp but some stains far from unc. But above average specimen with signatures. The thing that I never noticed before was it being printed by the BEP.
Not by American Bank Note company, or other known companies known to print bank notes for countries whom didn't print their own bank notes.
