Supposedly... I have seen CAC stickered coins with staple scratches. It is not uncommon to see them on early federal, but I have seen scratches on a stickered commemorative. I wish I could find the image of the PCGS MS68 CAC Mercury Dime with the small staple scratch!
Do not let the photo fool you. I posted this because I did not have a photo of this with the CAC sticker so you can all check the database at CAC. Yes, the coin beaned at PCGS AU55. However, it earlier failed with the NGC AU58. Here is the coin history: Bought 2/5/2011 - NGC 58 Sent to CAC 7/18/2012 - Failed At some point prior to May 2014 sent to PCGS (crack out) - AU55 Sent to CAC (again) 7/5/2014 – received Green sticker Sold 2/1/2019 I certainly noticed the scratches but the coin was just a “wow” coin. It was semi-prooflike to boot. It was one of the few I actually made money when I sold it and I paid a LOT for it too and...that was in a bad market for Bust Dimes. I didn’t make much on it but still it has been rare I actually make money back on a piece. The buyer was “wow”’d as well as I recall. You just never know I guess. I often was able to talk to John when a coin failed to get a reason but not on the earlier submission. However, I can tell you with Bust material he fails coins not so much for too high a grade but for the "cleaned long ago, retoned" thing. But I guess the look of the coin overwhelmed the scratches on the 2nd resubmission. jom
I like the coin, even with the scratches. I agree with the PCGS grade as well but heck, I still believe in the Easter Bunny!

@Mainebill you are up @jom is up after @geekpryde is 3rd up (Note: if someone isn't able to post or doesn't within ~1 day, then the person who is next can go ahead and post....the other person will just move back one place in line)
Very nice clean large cent. The devices and fields are almost void of marks. Other than a couple very minor nicks in the obverse field to the right of the head, one on the neck and one above the T on the reverse, the coin is virtually spotless. I have very little experience with EAC but could see this with a green bean.
Based on the picture, I getting the feeling that the luster is weak. I had a 1/2 Cent that was MS 64 CAC with mediocre luster (by the photo I'm reminded of it) and it was a disappointing coin. So while I can see there being a sticker, I would say: No sticker
That's a tough one. I'll guess no-CAC due to it being an MS65 and not an MS66. The luster issue noted above. jom
I've been absent from this thread for a spell (Yody Ho Visus?) but we's got to have a round of applause for DDDD for all the work he has devoted to this thread. The 'stats' are impeccably kept. Hat's off for the dear fellow, and friend.
