All righty then, I hit the jackpot at my dealer!!!! He got in 7 bust halves this week from a random walk in sale. These two are mine and the other 5 are on layaway. These two came with me for just over $100. The first the 1812 is I beleive an O-104 in VG, notice the line through the wing. The 1826 is I think a O-113a notice the stripes extending up into the crossbars, and the hard to see die crack starting at the C in cents and wrapping around the coins to the I in United.
Great coins!! I really like the 1812. The coloring on the 26 is fantastic, if thats how it looks in hand. Nice buys! Guy~
bq , looks like you caught the addiction , better sign in in to rehab quick or else all your other coins will be insignificant or you'll be giving overton nos. to your Buffalo nickles , Just kiddingyour 2 BHs are great , with nice original looking surfaces , and for $100 a steal . Nice catch , can't wait till you post the others .:thumb::thumb::thumb: rzage
Those are real beauties BQ! Do you have a site where you can show all of them together as the collection grows? Thanks for sharing... RickieB
Very nice coins. I like both of them - I think the 1812 is F and the 1826 is VF. My dealer had a real nice selection this time also - about 20 new coins. I will try to get pictures of my new ones later today - actually one of them is an 1839-O coin, first I have seen them have.
RickieB, thanks for the idea, from now on my entire bust half collection, including all comments and overton identifications can be viewed at http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff71/bqcoins/Bust Halves/?albumview=grid Every time I get a new one, and it is updated, once I've shown you all, you can see it in the album.
