Does anyone have experience with ANACS in relation to their criterion for FBL designation? Thank you for any info.
I'm not sure if ANACS gives out the FBL designation , will try to check . I was wrong they do use the FBL designation . rzage
According to the ANACS population report they show the designation FL which I am going to presume is FBL.
Thanks for the info. I know the standards for NGC & PCGS but I do not know the criterion for ANACS & ICG. Has anyone reading my question submitted a Franklin, to either of these companies and received the FBL designation? If so, what is your interepretation of their FBL grading standard? Thanks.
I've done NGC and ANACS for Franklins. My opinion is NGC hands down. NGC is $12.50 for Modern coins 1955 to present so if you Franklins are from 1955-1963 that price isn't bad. Earlier dates under Economy tier for 16 bucks a coin.
NGC is the toughest in my opinion on Franklin halves and the FBL designation. They grade both the top of the bell and the bottom.
ICG and ANACS have changed hands or management so many times in recent years that you would probably have to ask them directly what their criteria is for FBL.
I have inquired with ANACS several days ago and waiting for a response. They are slow with all their services at this time.
