2004 D Penny

    Hey guys and gals, is it me. Or does this penny look to be struck on a different planchet. It is even thicker then norm. The reverse does not seem to fit correctly on it. Any info would be helpful

    Looks like it was trapped in something for a while where it rolled on edge. This is damage. If you look up on YouTube on how folks make rings out of coins, you'll see what happened to your coin (albeit by some other means).

    Have you weighed it? It could have been struck on a thicker than normal planchet.

    It looks like a normal zinc Cent that has been abused since the day it was minted.

    Spooned edge.. Damaged.
    No need to weigh it. It would still be 2.5 grams.
