Just looking some basic info were Roosevelt dimes ever mad where copper side was the obverse? I happened to find a dime with copper that’s so noticeable from looking at obverse of Coin I started thinking that I don’t ever remember seeing it so noticeable if I ever saw it at all and don’t have any from any years but 2018 or 19 so i figured I would ask you all
No. What you have is probably a coin with environmental damage. It possibly could be missing a clad layer, but we would need to see pictures to make a determination.
It may be that the cladding layer is missing, or thinner than its supposed to be. Think of maybe a sandwich missing bread on one side, or the bread being thinner than it should be, and the inside is sort of spilling out. People here are going to need to see pictures to even begin guessing what the cause is. I mean, someone could have even painted it.
Missing Clad layer is usually only on one side and any side.. Here are examples from my collection of missing on Obverse and another on Reverse So please post pictures!
It sounds like you have a coin that is environmentally damaged but only pictures of both sides will help us give you the facts.
Impossible to say what they have without pictures and the weight of the coin, preferably to two decimal places.
It’s common for the observe edge to be the half with the copper red color after looking at other dimes from other years just the edge part that is copper color is bright red and the rim looks to be cracked around half coin which has allowed the red to be on rim so it’s very noticeable looking at it while in your hand. Pictures? Cmon man we all know the combination of my terrible photo taking skills and the camera that I’m using the photos will pretty much suck.
