At my favorite coin shop, hey could not get enough silver to sell. They had to buy silver at one place at $1.10 per ounce over spot and are selling it at $1.40 over spot, twice of what they usually sell it for. There was no junk silver to buy, just rounds and bars.
I went to two places today, a jeweller and a coin store. The Jeweller marked their premium up to $5 over spot. I told them they lost a customer. If they're not going to treat me fairly on coins, I'm not going to risk getting the same treatment on jewelery. The LCS let me buy as much as I wanted at melt, so I bought about 40 ounces, mostly foreign of varying fineness. I did buy two bars of 2500 grains each, 5.2 troy ounces.
