As a Norwegian US coin collector, it is like Christmas every day a new coins drop down in my mailbox of US coins. And I love "Christmas" lol.
Today I got the 1/2 dollar proof 2020 and the 1 dollar Native American dollar proof 2020. My gold..... dollar collections are all complete.
    Gold dollar 2000-2008
    Native dollar 2009- present
    President dollars and
    Innovation dollars.
I also have the 50 State Quarters Program 1999-2008 complete as well as
District of Colombia and US Territories Quarters 2009 and
America The Beautiful Quarters as well. Got them all =)

I am waiting for about 15 quarter clad and the same number of 5 cents in the mailbox this week. Of the Kennedy 1/2 dollars, I just have one missing, 2017S. I want it so bad to get that chapter in my book complete too. But someday it will come. Hope all of you are having a great day "over there". Thanks for reading. Leif of Norway =)

I see you are new so here's a few pointers. Male is a man, Mail is delivered by the postal service. Lol (See your thread title). Take photos from directly above and crop out all the background. Both coins look very nice and I'm sure they are nice additions to your collection.

Keep up the good work, Leif! It sounds to me like you may have one of the largest collections of modern US coinage in the entire country of Norway. ~ Chris

Thank you, J.T. Parker. I always mix these two words but know 98% of ppl who has English as the main language understand what I wanna say. It is not that hard I guess lol. But some have fun when a new foreign member comes in and do something "wrong". Its all over and it is to live with, no problem. I am used to it. When I got into the internet back in 2006-2007 I had that problem every day and left many groups and places like this cos of it. I was hoping to mix in here to share and learn from you. I have in total 8 albums of US coins and most of them are already full, just after collecting the USA for 3-4 years. I also run a Norwegian group at Facebook for US coins and banknotes. Had many great buys thereby auctions. I also ordered some of it from the US mint. I really love the US coins. I collect all from 1 cent up to 1 dollar, but not all periods/coins, ie morgan dollar, and peace dollar. I guess the oldest coin I got is 1 cent in 1830. I also have 1839 of the old ones. In addition to the eagle coins, I love the Indian head cent. Talking about one cent.... I have always since I starting collecting US coins wondered why Americans say penny when its cent. It's to me like I would call 1 øre from Norway for 1 peseta lol. Is it cos the history of the USA ? Thanks for backing me up Parker

That is an entirely different subject and I won't go into detail. After all, I am a retired postal manager. :)

    Leif,
    You are very welcome.
On my European visit in 1973 I had planned on visiting your beautiful country, specifically, Ibsen's home in Bergen. Unfortunately, our Scandanavian sojourn did not make it to Norge, as we ended up staying in Kovenhavn, Danmark for 2 weeks. There I was able to see Marlene Dietrich in a small venue at the Tivoli Gardens. (WOW!)
I'm pleased so you enjoy collecting U.S. coins and hope you agree that those minted
    from 1916-1964 are particularly collectible.
    Cheers/Skal,
    J.T.

The mailman was kind today. He brought me the following US quarters. 1973s, 81s, 83s, 89p, 90s, 91s, 92s, 93d, 93s, 96d, 96s, 97d, 97s, 98d and 98s which are the last coin of that series of clads. Not often this happens to a Norwegian like me. Next week I also get 1968S and 1971s. Then I will be missing only 4 coins of the 93 coins that are in this series, which are not silver.

The series which is in 90% silver is in the period of 1932-1964. Of course, the last year of silver was the year I came to the world =)

Eventually, I will also start the series in silver, but there is something else, including 5 centers that are on the list before that. Some of them will come next week, if I do not remember wrong there were around 16 pieces? Now I probably can't afford that many coins until I get sold away a bit myself. Sorry about my English

As a Norwegian American with 100 percent Norwegian ancestry on both sides of my family, I was very happy to see your post. Therefore I wanted to share this 1997 proof set that my parents gave me for Christmas that year. I think they ordered it out of the Sons of Norway magazine. Sometime I would like to add other Norwegian coins to my collection.

I wish you much success in your collecting of US coins.

Welcome to Cointalk. Your collection of US coins surpasses the extent of a great deal of members here. The use of the name "penny" has been around since the US was still an English colony. With the US being the Great Melting Pot of the world, there are many things that carry "nicknames" given by settlers even though their official name is totally different.
