First, I need to get a Krause catalog, but which one? The internet sites show many different titles, and some are without Mr. Bell and some include him. Most are 1901 to date, and I have yet to find any coins avaiable to me minted prior to 1900. Second, I can now identify several world coins on sight, but need help with a few. Could you please look over the following selection and give me an idea of Country of origin, and if possible date and denomination. Several pics show only one side, so just guess about the country and I'll take it from there on World Coin Gallery. Thanks for your help. Oh, one more thing many of these coins are MS65 or better, and the fist coin I'll show below, I have many in great shape with this same symbol on them, so would really, really like to know that country!
First one is a Bangladeshi Coin....Can't say anything bout the 2nd coin without seeing the other side.
Hey TW...Try this: Krause 2009 Standard Catalog of World Coins (Includes DVD) 1901-2000 (36th Ed) And Krause 2009 Standard Catalog of World Coins 2001-Date (3rd Ed)
The second coin is a yuan from Taiwan/Republic of China (also called Taiwan dollar), dated year 63 (=1974AD). The third one is a 5 yuan (5 Taiwan dollars) from the same country, dated year 78 (=1989AD)
Bangladeshi 50 Poisha and 25 Poisha has the same obverse but different diameter. If there an Tiger on the reverse its 25 Poisha if not its a 50 Poisha.
Wow, 100 yen, that sounds like a lot of money! Just curious, since I'm new to world coins, Kid,Bart, and Acanthite....in your world coin collection, what is your favorite Country to collect? How do you put together a "set"?
