Ive read all the threads on here about them. How there a scam, basement slabbers grading there own stuff and sellin em. And ive also heard and read that buy the coin not the slab. So i took a chance, and bought 200 slabbed coins for roughtly 80 dollars, and bid on a lot of 50 mint coins in the original cello ($12 with shipping) and a constanine coin as shown in picture ( $7.50 won the bid and i combined the order with the 50 mint coins for free shipping) so roughtly 251 coins for about $100. So each coin was roughly .40 cents each. Not bad i think. Idk whats in there just yet as the 200 wont be here til tomorrow (friday the 13) and the rest will be here on monday. So i figured i start an updated thread on I.N.B. and post my results back with what ive gotten. Feel free and post some of your I.N.B's and let us know how you felt about the coins themselfs, and your thoughts. (And ive been told that only newbies or inexperience collectors buy from them. Ive learned alot, but theres way more to learn and i still consider myself still a newbie to this hobby. BUT youll never find a treasure if you dont look, and i like to take mild risks with my money, hince why i like gambling, so i took this risk to learn and see if i could find that one diamond in the rough.) Ill upday with picture of what i get tomorrow and over the weekend. Til then happy hunting.
Look. Junior.....ya wanna crab about stuff site unseen, ya won't get a soft shoulder to cry on here. Buy stuff site unseen and you get what you paid for.
I wasnt crying. Iam looking forward to the hunt. Should i not find ANYTHING, oh well. I TOOK A CHANCE. I wanted to take the chance as EVERYONE says "dont buy it without good pictures". EVERYONE!! So i did what everyone said not to do AND TOOK THE RISK. I dont regret buying them. Even if i find nothing i wont regret it. I believe i read a thread on here where someone bought a bag of foreign coins off line and found a GOLD peice in the bag. My point was i took a risk, and am looking forward to whatever i get. I didnt need a sholder to cry on, as iam not sad. I just told you guys what i did, just to share, and ask to see your INBs and options on them. And said post pictures of what id get when there here tomorrow.
Lol. I really cant wait. Honostly. I know what everyone says, but i also like to try and find out and learn myself. Sometimes the hardway. I just wanted to let yall know. Being a stay at home dad without a car durning the day, i can say that i really dont got alot of friends. So i posted on here.
I've debated on buying the bulk basement slabbed lots, but never have. Hope you find some cool stuff!
I mean for $0.40 a coin, that's almost face value LOL I think this is wonderful. You really can't beat that price, for anything. I would have LOTS OF FUN going through so many coins. Good buy Junior!
@cpm9ball they had a couple different ones on there for sale and for bidding. The ebay seller was named estate bureau. But had some for 44.50, 50.00, 77.50. Each said dealer overstock blowout 100 slabbed proofs, gems, BUs, and circulated. So i did the math real quick and figured thats not too bad to risk. If iam completely ripped off ill contact ebay and get a refund. But i dont think i will be.
Iam not saying though id buy a 1916 d dime or a 1932 d quarter from them. But i dont think ill do to badly from a bulk sale. And if anything me and the boy and start getting his collection going and another for the baby when hes older.
So, you have no idea what you bought! Isn't that like looking down the barrel of a gun and pulling the trigger to see if it is loaded? ~ Chris
Well yeah, the same as seeing a sign that says Mine field ahead. and not stopping. On a side note I have bought some Washington quarters for under .75 ea. That would certainly grade gem. These though were in hand purchases.
I was thinking it would be four rolls of 2019 Crappy Zincolns fresh from the Federal Reserve Bank. ~ Chris
Ha! For the OP's sake, lets hope for the best! But saying he got these on Ebay, you just may be right!
Srry @Pickin and Grinin i cant use the minefield one. While in the army, i was a combat engineer, and part of my job was to clear minefields and explosives. If there was a sign saying 'minefield ahead' id be in there lol
