I found this forum through Google and am hoping someone can help me. My husband who collected paper money recently came into 3 1954 CDN $1000 bills. Two of them are consecutive and are in ok / good condition. The other one has tape on the bottom corner and is written on and fair conditon. Does anyone have any idea what the consecutive ones would be worth? They are not Devils Face.

    TIA! :)

I would think so :) i dont recall the US issuing $1000 notes in 1954. The nick names also gives a possible hint lol

Also, welcome to the forum :p and please verify country and post pics :)

Bank of Canada last issued the 1954 $1000's as late as 1987 with the signatures of Thiessen Crow. The following year they printed a new design, but that denomination was discontinued by Bank of Canada about 7-8 years ago. The 1954 issues especially the Thiessen Crow signatures are a bit more common than the 1988 issue.

It is still worth quite a fair bit in face value alone, although it would be worthwhile to see if there are any additional premium. Do post photos where possible. I don't believe Canada has demonetize those notes yet. Welcome to cointalk by the way!

It depends on what condition the bills are in and what signatures are on them. With the description you gave I would guess any premuim would be small.

a premium 'may' be small, depending on condition, yes... but dont forget, the notes are $1000 face... still worth close to $1000 in US dollars
