Absolutely fabulous ! But hey... you already knew that ! ;)

    MS66.

Would NGC give it a star ? You bet they would. I certainly would. If not this one, then what would get a star ?

Gonna say PCGS gave it a 67. My grade a 66. And yeah, I think NGC would give it a star.

    So there Mike :p

Stunning, Absolutely Stunning. I think the marks on the obverse will keep it at an MS65, but it would definitely star in an NGC holder. Is that for sale?

I just call 'em as I see 'em eddie. If you were to go back through the posts you'd find plenty of 65's - 67's.

Yeah, I have a 1900-O Morgan PCGS MS65 with way more bag marks and such than my 1885-P Morgan NGC MS64!

I guess that's what happens when you pay someone for their opinion. It just seems that there's an occasional lack of consistency.

I am stunned that only graded 64. Stunned.

I was even more stunned when GD called it a MS66 :D

MS-64 because of the number of hits on the figure's neck, shoulder and arms.

yeah it looked 65 to me but then we are only looking at pics but odds are if you crack and resubmit it will come back as a 65 at least :)

Ya shouldn't be, it's just that there has recently been a flurry of what I would consider over-graded coins among those I have commented on. But that coin is a stunner and with my dying breath I'll say that they under-graded it.

Now that said, you have the coin in hand Jason - what do you think it should grade ?

I gave it an MS65 but I can see it getting an MS64 from the slab photo. It appears from that photo that the luster is a little subdued from the toning. Let me reiterate, IT APPEARS subdued. I still think the surfaces and eye appeal are that of a solid MS65.

However, knowing how much emphasis NGC puts on luster with regards to the star designation, I have changed my mind and don't think that it would star. Still a great coin and a pricey one in either grade. Nice pickup.

Well in my opinion the coin is a solid MS65. I also believe if I were to crack it it would STAR at NGC . Now what am I going to do ......?
