Hi everyone, Any suggestion on where I can go to buy a DIY slab for a large, odd size coin? Diameter: 42-44mm, Thickness: 10mm. (Dimensions vary slightly along the circumference due to the hammered edge finish.) I tried Wizard, Coin Supply Express, Coin Supply Store, and others, with no hits. If you might have possibilities, appreciate it if you can share. Thanks all. (Image from SD Bullion)
Thanks. I wonder if they're related to the old "CAPITOL" holders. Probably not, due to different spelling.
I had a couple of large medals that i wanted to put in air tites I bought a pack of petri dishes with lids off Amazon for I believe $6 for a 20 pack a year or so ago. They make all different sizes.
Wow - I would never have thought of that. I was leaning towards a large slab because I already have a wooden display case that would fit a PCGS large slab (those that hold 5 oz. quarters). I'll save the petri dish idea for the future - but it reminds me of my not-so-good times in Chemistry!
I think those might work! Thanks! I need to check about the thickness though - but you pointed me in the right direction. Thank you.
@dwhiz, I guess the DIY slab idea is out. The two halves won't snap together. The coin is too thick. See... Well, thanks anyway!
Looks like Capitol Plastic might be the place to check out. I've had custom holders made but nothing 10 mm thick.
