Just looking at these pictures made me shudder to think that this is an UNC coin. Granted, it's GOLD and we all have salivated, one time or another, over GOLD, but can this be an uncirculated piece? Help me here. Are my eyes failing me or do I see a scam? Do I now go back and let all the TPG's do the work for me? OK, here...Look: Why are there so many marks on the face and in the field on the obverse, and still called a BU. Is it the photography or what? It's on eBay at: http://cgi.ebay.com/1916-S-10-GOLD-Indian-Eagle-CHOICE-UNC-CHOICE-BU_W0QQitemZ280262601208QQihZ018QQcategoryZ39471QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or, 280262601208 Bruce
I believe that Greatsoutherncoin has been mentioned here at CT before. This auction is just so ludicrous that even I, had to say something. Is this their MO? I'm trying to be nice here, but Is this how they do business? If so, I'll just say, KEEP AWAY!!! Bruce
Lotsa wear on the eagle's wing. Can't blame that on weak strike. Beatdown baggy. It's a shame... 1916-S is a better date.
Major hits on cheek, jaw and neck. The overall granular look of the field makes me think this could be a cast copy. Not nearly a "Choice BU", whatever that means.
