I have a 1987-D Lincoln Penny that looks like a Lamination error,had it looked at and they tell me it's some type of error,maybe you can give me some kind feed back as to what type of error this is and if it has any value.
Thats the issue. It isn't an error. It looks like someone has applied acid to the surface AFTER it left the mint.
Frank, they abuse these coins this way in high school chemistry classes. This was in some strong acid.
Your coin looks like it was cleaned with a hi-speed electric wire wheel brush. Note the discoloration from the generation of friction heat. Your coin also looks to be a 1980-D copper cent and not a 1987-D copper plated zinc cent.
