Could someone post a picture of the 'L' on an 1884 L indian cent, I don't know where it is located, and I am currently pursuing one on the ebay. Trying to cherrypick one if possible.
The 1864 L is only on the Copper cent design and on the Pointed Bust cents. The L is the designers initials and it is located on the band below the last feather, you need to turn the coin sideways to read it properly.
Here ya go. This is mine and pretty easy to see. AU58. Make sure you check the pointed area the has the square around it
3 1864s to choose from The L is turned sideways facing down between the last feather and the 1st diamond on the ribbon. If you are pursuing a worn coin the L may not be visible. All the Bronze 1864 coins with a "pointed bust" are of the L variety. There are also 1864 broad bust Bronze coins as well as an 1864 copper nickel alloy coin. Bruce
I assume that you meant 1864, not 1884. [I hope.] good luck cherry picking! I've gotten a few of them.
Wow, I hope he reads this before he enters his winning bid! Earth to Enterprise! Earth to Enterprise!
That's it. Give the Mint another silly excuse to make a special coin. That's all we need. We don't have enough!
