WOW! What else can I say. Received the set yesterday. UPS delivered it???? That was weird. It sat on my porch all day because I thought it was something for my job. By a stroke of luck, I went out about 11:30 last night to move my car and picked up the box.

It was packaged the same way as the regular proof set so I know several CT members will be upset because of the all-in-one packaging.

The Quarters and dollars were nice as expected, but the rest of the coins, especially the silver coins were incredible!!!!! What frosting!!!!! The half and the dime were absolutely stunning. The nickel and the cent weren't that bad either. Very nicely struck. I am quite pleased.

What does everyone else think who received them already?

I'm a tiny bit disappointed. The Obverse of the dead presidents look like they are toning and were not treated/washed quite right prior to the minting process. The one case is cracked which you can see - that really is not a big deal as I'm sure I can probably pick one up from a dealer cheap. The quarters are really beautiful. The frosting on some of the coins does not seem quite as good on some as others. Over all I guess I would give a grade of A - sounds like some of you have A+ and I'm happy to hear that! I only wish the dollar coins looked a little better.

The mint will refund tour postage if you ask them for it after you get your replacements from them. I've done it. When they asked me how much was the postage I sad $3.11. And that is what they refunded. No receipt required no questions asked. I wasn't sure how much it cost but 3.11 sounded right.

I would definitely return those coins for replacements. There's no reason to have to accept broken cases or stained/prematurely toned coins due to the Mints errors.

By the way, Mine are due any day now. Hopefully tomorrow as I'm off from work and can look at them as soon as they get here. Most times the US Mint produce exceptional high quality coins that I don't mind amassing!

I've ordered mine, but I haven't received it yet. If it's anything like my 2007 set, it will be just fine... sorry to hear about the bad luck so far with some of these...

I'd definately return any damaged sets , even if the coins look ok now , a crack will only let in moisture to ruin the coins later , also I like my coins in there original packing , undamaged .

I got my set today and am generally pleased with the quality of the frosting on most of the coins. The only defects are 2 shiny pin hole sized dots under Kennedys ear. That wouls drop this coin to Pf 69 while all the others look PF 70.

Got my two sets yesterday...arrived via UPS. Guess the DHL/Postal service alliance is over or maybe put on a temporary hold for now.

Generally satisfied with the quality of the coins except that the Alaska Quarters in both sets each have a small hardly noticable scratch under the bust of George on the obverse. Was thinking of sending them back but don't want to deal with the hassel....I'll just reorder a couple of more and use the ones that just arrived for albums.

Dollar coins look cameo....better than last year.

Yep ! Got mine yesterday by UPS. ( What's with this ? ) I usually get mine via USPS in the mailbox, but this time they were laying on my porch. UPS might be faster, but USPS I believe is safer.

BTW; I had a hard time putting them away. They are absolutly beautiful.
