That's funny - you sure do know how to push RickieB's buttons :D

I am sure there is a gal involved and pretty sure the note will look much the way it did the day it was printed... We anxiously await...

No, actually this one is an addition to a collecting theme that I only very recently started adding stuff to again, one I have not done anything with in the last 10+ years. No women on this one.

I am more concerned about RickieB's health. I better keep him in suspense furthermore.

Well my friend...seeing the kind of notes you have, I am sure you are saving me a bundle so my financial health is probally a little better...LOL

I hope it is a fantastic rarity and that the lovely lady that is bestowed on the note is something that enhances the wonderful collection you already have.

Make sure to post the pics for me...

    Regards,

Oh, I have whole collections of different themes that I don't always post about a lot. Same goes for coins. I have many many collecting areas in numismatics and notaphilics, it would be too much to publish them all.

I haven't even imaged most of the stuff that sits in the bank. I did get around to imaging the examples of which this is an addition last year, they are on my webhost, but not available as they are not paged. I have whole sections of my site that are currently my view only:mad:

This is one of those notes that should be surprisingly common, but in fact, it is not. They were issued in 1790 by the Corporation of New York, the City of New York in today's parlance, and continued to be issued through 1798. In the summer of 1799 a rumour started circulating that there were counterfeits making an appearance, and the rumour was founded and notes found to have been printed in London started appearing. So the remaining notes were called in and redeemed by June 1st of that year. Over 300,000 3 pence notes were printed in the eight year run of this series, but many of them were redeemed and subsequently burned. The remainders are unusually scarce today as a result, usually large print run paper monies in the 18th century would be fairly available today - because they were typically not redeemed and lost value. In this case the notes were redeemed by the Corporation of New York and lost circulation status.

Unfortunately for me, when this item came, the other item in my purchase did NOT, and I hope it will wind it's way to me by Monday as they were overnighting it.
