1882 Morgan Showing Its Age

    Does the aging of this Morgan cause its grading and value to be reduced? I know it sounds like a stupid question cause I would say " yes" but I just want to hear it from you guys. It's been in the family's hands for at least 80 years. Too bad we didn't take care of it better. zg
    Boy when you see it in person it looks better than this. But most pictures don't lie. THANKS

    Aging does not change the grade or value. Wear and tear will change the grade and the value. So while it may have been passed around in the past go ahead and protect it now. The should prevent any future wear.

    The toning may be unattractive, but the coin is still a (IMO) XF-45.

    That's what an original morgan is supposed to look like.

    I agree. Circulated Morgans age well. It was a very well designed and durable coin.

    Istill like it , put it in a 2X2 OR ANYTHING ELSE TO PROTECT IT FOR ANOTHER 80 YEARS .

    Yup, yup. It aged well for sure. But I'd put it in an air-tite.
