I Found this one yesterday and researched another that was on PCGS. I looked at the Nicks and scratches the coin had in comparison to mine. The details were very bold and crisp like mine. As a newbie I evaluated mine at MS64 or 65 but the other coin came in at MS67 and was not nearly as deep as mine. I'd appreciate some feedback as to why it would come in so high. I attached photos of my coin. Thank you.
When you get to very high grades (67, 68) the coins are almost perfect, with tremendous luster, very minimal "bag marks" coins that bump into another coin and put a tiny nick on it. And then you have other coins which are still very nice, but MS 64 is a much more common grade. I can't really tell from your photo as the coin needs to be examined in hand (and by a professional) but if it is mint state then it is around MS-63. It also might be labeled Red-Brown and not MS-63 Red.
It is hard to tell what a coin looks like inside a 2 x 2, the plastic covers up a lot of details. Until you can get a pic outside the 2 x 2, I say the coin would only grade AU.
Wow! The mint inadvertently stamped a 4 on a 1973-D die. What a great error. Edit to add: Sorry, Not a slam on Lorenzo or his coin. With all of the silliness from some other recent posts, the sarcasm mode took over
It's a nice coin, but it doesn't stand out as anything extraordinary to me, and why would anyone consider having it graded is beyond me.
Still a nice coin. Look at a proof coin. Near perfect right. I know thieir different types. But look how clean the proof is. Would have to be just as clean. But circulated type to be MS 67 or better. Even ms 65
I'll take it out and provide you with some images. It does have Coin damage and the damage that it has is almost identical to the 73 I viewed that came in at MS67. The details on both mine and the other coin ate both bold and crisp. I know that is on HUGE factor when it comes to coin grading.
