a few months back I noticed that I had a Star series bill in my wallet. I posted a few pix of it on this forum and in response it was mentioned that about 2% of paper currency is star series. So I found another star series bill last week and another one last night. If that’s true about only 2%, seems I’m coming across them pretty frequently.
2% seems like a very accurate statistic. With strap searches (packs of 100 ones), 99% of the time, I would find 1-3 star notes per pack- usually 2. So, the 2% theoretical probability tended to align with experimental probability- at least for my circulation finds.
The BEP has a good record on star note needs. The 2013 $100 notes had over 4 Billion printed and the replacement note rate was .58%...well under 1%. The 2013 $1 notes, which they printed over 8 Billion notes had a replacement rate of 1.16%.
2% is a drop in the bucket compared to the other 98%. How many dollar bills have you handled without a star in the same time frame?
Like all the time, not very rare at all, i guess that depends on where you live here in Vegas there kike water...LOL
Vista Cruiser Are you a fan of that 70 show or just of the Vista Cruiser itself? I'll tell you about my week Monday I found the first star note of ever found. Admittedly I haven't really searched for them steadily but still. Tuesday I found my second star note. And yesterday before 7:30 a.m. found my third. Good to see I'm not the only one having this fluke of luck. But my luck is extended to way way way further than just three star bills this week. All I can say is it's been a good week I feel like I'm in tune with the universe LOL Keep those eagle eyes open you never know what you'll see. Happy Hunting
Both actually. Great catch. That was one of the last shows I've thought was really great. Now I'm just watching GetTV and METV for most, if not all of my viewing pleasures. If I ever came into a lot of money, the first thing on my list is buying a really nice original 69 Vista Cruiser
I found my first Star Series in January of this year, it also had a fairly low serial number on it, dated 2017 and was in very pristine condition. So far this year I've found 3 of them in my daily change. The most recent two that I came across over the past number of days were pretty circulated unfortunately.
