look at my post #35 .. is that what you are referring too ?? fyi, the other coins will have NOTHING similar, they're all from different dies and possibly hubs .. they've all been through their own traumatic circulation damage. You're best to look at a MS grade coin of the same year and mint mark for initial comparison.
Now in the first picture it aits in the bottom left corner. The second image will give you a better image of location and definition.
I see what you are talking about but your imagination is very vivid. It's not a mintmark, D or otherwise. It's a circulated nickel that took a hit.
The 81...83..nickel mm mystery Is this the specific location you are referring to ? If that is the location then a full obverse with that location marked with a circle and a full reverse probably could have zeroed us in quicker. And left the other stuff out IMHO
Nope! I did it intentionally to suggest to the OP that additional photos will do absolutely no good. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. ~ Chris
Yes ma'am. I could definately have explained myself better but i had a long rough night and was very tired. It's very true what they say about women. Smarter than most men. Under a microscope you can see the detail odthe D perfectly. I posted the images from a distance working it's way in towards the coin I thought yhth it would make it more visible in that sense like still photos. Bless your heart and thank you for showing a couple of others ignorance at it's finest.
It actually displays a prominent "L" from the "D" at the serif and the rest of you were able to see. I alao measured the two and they are a match. I will fdefinitely be submitting this for verification. Thank you again and apologies for not doing better in my explanation.
I used my phone didn't have a desktop to just that unfortunately. And the other coins were only for a reference to show that a normal Jefferson wouldn't display what you see on the 83 that's all they were there for. Once again apologies.
I also wanted to add Miss Martha imInot too savy as to how you were able to Mark and pin point the location of the MM the way you did. ImI somewhat ignorant when it comes to that.
I saved your photo in a file on my computer. Once there I select it for viewing. Then right clicked on the pic and selected 'open with "paint'. From there you can modify the photo with various tools. Then close the window. Then click on 'save changes. By the way, I see no need for an apology . You haven't offended me in any way at all.
