The extra Mint Mark is no where near the original one. Look NW to the center. You'll what look like to me as an inverted D where the ribbon is in the center of his hair. NW from the original MM.
Foe what ?? I assume formation if you mean this in the top left it took a hit from a pointy object. For instance if a pen hits it hard it's going to go into the metal, but the metal around the tip is going to be pushed out. And if it is not straight down, it won't be a perfect circle .. as an example.
No, and I strongly advise you not to play Liar's Poker at your local bar when you have been drinking all night. ~ Chris
I am TOTALLY confused now. Other years will *not* look *exactly* the same. Mint Marks are (until 1989ish) hand punched into each specific die. They are not making proofs so they do not care how accurate it's location is the the previous ones they punched. Nor how many times like with RPMs. Even through out the same year they may not be in the same exact location.
No it's farther out and the exact same size only inverted.D facing downwards and the serif pointing W.
The extra D is now in a c The secondary in the image sits SW at the very corner of the enlarged image.
