Thanks, Stack's & Bowers! But Why?

Stack's & Bowers just sent me their catalogs for their auctions associated with the Baltimore Whitman Show later this month.
I pluralized "catalog" because there are three LARGE catalogs.
All glossy paper and in color.

I'm trying to think of why they would send them to me.
It MUST have cost them a large chunk of change.
I think I might have bought my 1796 dime from them.
Anyway I can now understand at least one reason why people collect auction catalogs.

They never send me anything :( Probably because I'm not in their class of clientele lol.
Strange that you got 3 though.
Reminds me of when I got 4 KitchenAid ice cream makers when I sent away a rebate for just one :p

I remember the days before the internet was prominent. Mail in a couple low ball bids and Bowers and Merena, Stacks, and others would keep sending you catalogs. Finally ended up with too many that weren’t worth boxing and moving, so I gave a bunch away at coin club meetings, but kept about 2 dozen interesting ones from the 90s and early 00s

I got those for many years but they finally gave up on me.

One knows that they have made it to the NBL ( that's "Numismatic Big Leagues" to the layman) when they get not one.....not two....but three deluxe color glossy catalogs from Stack's & Bowers. Congrats Kanga! Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on my first black & white mini catalog from those guys.
