    Hi everybody

I just picked up a copy of the 18th edition of Photograde by Ruddy at a used book sale for a buck. My question is: has anything changed since this edition. Can I still use this book with accuracy?

    Thanks, Mike

They put out a new edition every year, I think they are up to the 30th edition now. Never hurts to have older copies, but I'd look for a newer one if it was me.

Does anyone know which addition is considered to contain the best photos?

An interesting and possibly inexpensive study could be done with Photograde.
Since it has 30+ years of history, it would seem possible to me to get as many editions as possible and do a comparison over time.

Pick a couple common coins in a common grade and see how the pictures and descriptions have changed over the years.
    Stuff like Morgans in XF.

Scanning all the pictures and descriptions for a few select coins wouldn't be hard.
Then put them all together side by side and see what shows up.

I believe this would be the only grading guide you could do this with.
