    Came across these this morning in a box with random coins in, thought i would share them with you
    Sorry about the fotos i am having a clarity problem
    1/ 1892 Austrian 8florin/20franc
    2/ 1969 English gold sovereign
    3/ no fotos but the other find is a gold medal 1971 celebrating the Nobel award to German Chancellor Willy Brandt

    It looks like a box he never got around to. On the bottom is selotaped a paper saying"to be confirmed", whatever that means. In there are all manner of coins from asian countries and leper colonies (???) as well

    Random box from his inheritance, he no doubt means.

    Yeah, we knew my father-in-law had an interest in coins but the amount and variety is a bit daunting. For 25 years he was in the Norwegian merchant navy and bought coins from whatever port they stopped at

    @expat - when you post your pictures, look for the "full size" rather than "thumbnail" option.

    Here is a basic and beginner-friendly site to help you: World Coin Gallery. It's an "oldie but a goodie".

    Also, Numista is one of the bigger and more useful World Coin databases out there.

    Made a serious typo yesterday. The gold sovereign should read 1967 NOT 1969 as none were minted that year
