Sorry Spider, but could not find a single coin in your list that I could say was a favorite.

By the way, do you have something against coins made before 1900?

No U.S. coin comes close to touching the majesty and embodying the American Spirit than the original Buffalo Nickel. The obverse and the reverse are magnificently designed by James Earl Fraser and no other coin has approached the simple, universally beloved depiction of the American Indian and the Buffalo. Study the coin, folks and read between the lines... you'll love it!

Standing Liberty Quarters, Walking Liberty Halves, Saint Gaudens $20 Gold are all more beautiful than anything you have on your list (except for the silver and gold eagles, which copy their designs).

nothing against old or foreign coins

I have some morgans, peaces, mercuries, and buffalos, and others

I also have over 150 foreign coins, like 80% Polish ones though cause I went last summer, and all my old uncles gave them to me

No doubt about it, that concept coin is drop-dead gorgeous. And the ASE is likewise very beautiful - I have two PCGS Collectors Club ASEs and I like to take them out and just drool over them. But, of all regular issues, I didn't know there was anything except Morgans.

And not to start a war or anything, but I cannot see the infatuation with the Peace Dollar. To me, Liberty's mouth hanging open and her look of stunned surprise... well, this is a family forum, so I can't say what I really think.

It was hard for me not to vote for the Silver Eagle, but I think the JFK half remains my favorite coin.

    :) :)

Isn't it amazing that clearly our favorite coins (US) are those that depict Liberty...her greatness, her majasty, and all that she represents? Do you think that Congress can have some new depiction of her on future coins? I am all for a Cindy Crawford model type with long hair being blown back. :p

Miss Ann W. Williams was said to have modeled for the Morgan Dollar that many of us collect and admire. I am sure that our mint can find a "modern-day" Ann Williams to model as Liberty for the 21st Century. After all, 100 years from now as collectors look back at coins that are now being produced...do you think they will collect with a passion SBA's or SAC's as we today collect Morgan's?

Or...if the dollar coin ever hits the street...do you think that future collectors will post on boards like this that the Millard Fillmore Presidential coin is a "must have" for any collector!?! Who knows? Somebody might argue a 100 years from now that the Calvin Coolidge dollar is his favorite coin.

Me? I can't see that conversation ever happening a 100 years from now.

I personally think that they should have stuck with "lady liberty" and not real people (except commems)
