    Hi all,
I am new to the site and have a question about a 1983 Jefferson Nickel that I have. It appears that there was a problem with the die when it was stamped and a piece of metal from the edge was not cut properly and folded over the top of the head. Is this a common minting error? Does it make it any more valuable?

It's a marginal die break, otherwise known as a "cud".
