I realize this is off topic, and I do agree that experience is better than college. But in the real world it is a degree, in most cases that is going to open that door for you to get the experience. I have seen so many qualified people with years of experience apply for a job and not even get to the interview because they lacked a degree. Stay in school, get the degree and the experience will come.

Experience may be better , but you won't get it without knowing the right people , which the great majority don't , unless you have a degree to open the door . Education per se won't get you a job if there are none around , but will give you the 1st chance when there is one , also in todays economy you just might have to move where the jobs are . In other words without a degree you're sunk .

Reading/Listening/Watching

Well, I just checked our two DVDs from our local coin club that I'll be watching (guess that counts for reading, doesn't it?).

1993 ANA "How to Grade Early U.S. Coppers with Denis Loring"
2005 EAC "Basic Rules for Collecting Early American Coppers with Stephen Carr"

I'm kind of curious about the "basic rules" title. I don't know that I respond well to being told there are rules for a hobby! We'll see.

Doug. Your freakin me out. I just clicked Ken Potters page a saw a book for $135 that I bought a cpl weeks ago for $5.

 

Numismatically related, both "The History of the U.S. Mint and its Coinage" and "Buffalo Nickels: The Abraded Die Varieties" by Ron Pope are open.

Personaly, I'm rereading Shelby Foote's civil war trilogy.

 

Let me guess....the PCGS grading guide?? I've picked up 2 at a price MUCH lower then what Ken is asking.
