This is a GSA Morgan I bought some years back. Most "dealers" graded it at MS63 (cuz they wanted it for around $200) but I persisted and held out for a better grade as it is one of the unusually "clean" GSAs .......... as most are heavily bag marked. This coin was finally agreed to and sold as a borderline MS66 but at a much "lower price", that of a high end MS65 (I was hoping for even a higher grade, and price). It had some very minor rim nicks but the field and devices showed no huge hits - just a little "cabinet burn" type "smudges" on some high points. Anyway, these are the coins I like to deal in - good clean examples and with few "bag" or "contact" marks. They are hard to come by and out of each 1,000 coins I look over I find maybe 20 or so acceptable of these eye appealing beauties. What thinkest thou, fellow collectors?
That is a nice cherry you picked indeed. I'm no Morganologist; but the fields look pristine and the tiniest mark on eagle's breast and maybe none on the cheek...MS65+? (post is almost 3 weeks old, but I figure someone ought to post a reply!)
Very nice example , you're right out of 6 GSA CC Dollars only 1 graded 63 the rest graded around 62 , I'd say yours could go 65* , nice GSA Morgan . rzage
i agree w/ a 65 rating ..even if the die is worn..nice clean fields and luster...thanks for sharing! best wishes...steve
