Nice Filled-Die IHC

    Does the lack of detail caused by the filled die decrease the grading? Except for that, I'd say it's an EF-40. It is identifiable as an 1887. Too bad both eights are faintly visible, otherwise I could claim it is an 1877.

    But, your's is a much higher grade.

    If the reverse is full, IMO the die fill does not affect the grading.

    I agree. That is a cool coin. And I believe the reverse would give away that the coin was not an 1877.
