My first coin show today...know nothing of foreign or ancient coins. Was looking for cool artwork to make coin necklaces out of. Clawing through the 20 cents apiece box, I found plenty BUT none of the cool Roman or Greek ones you guys have for avatars. I asked the dealer which box I could find them in. His jaw dropped at my stupidity, but he recovered jovially and explained "those are ancient coins, sir. I just sold 3 for $500 to a gentleman." So, I guess I won't be getting any of those old greek and roman coins on MY AVATAR! (hee,hee)
There are a great many ancients that are quite inexpensive and very affordable. I'm sure that some of the members can make several suggestions for you.
you can find alot of nice ones for under $30 the first one( obv is kinda blury sorry) was around $8 and the second probably cost me 50 cents. edit: both are Constantine
also I, vcoins.com has to reproductions you might like that are in pendants, rings, and such allready
and if you wanna take the time buy a lot of uncleaned and then clean em yourself and you can make which ones u like into w/e u wish
