On the 1838 half eagle. I grade it AU55 no bean. It does not have the luster / eye appeal I expect for an AU58.

CAC is a sticker service, not a grading service. It’s like taking your coin to the table of a well known dealer and getting his opinion on the coin.

For valuation basis I go by the TPG grade on the holder and price it based on where it falls in the grade range. Some CAC coins I agree with the sticker some not. CAC stickers coins they consider A or B, C no sticker.

Randy that's sweet! JA does not give out beanies very much for Saints so that one must be pretty special!

It’s hard to judge the mirrors from photos, but the grade appears correct. The reverse is clean; while the obverse has plenty of contact marks, it’s in line with what I’d expect from a 63. It’s no slam dunk, but I would say YES for a Green CAC.

I will say no to a green bean; too many deep marks on the face.

This Morgan is one I would have a problem with. The fullness of the strike sucks me right in. I say yes to a green bean

I would say 85cc Dollar slightly a B coin yes to sticker. It appears wellstruck with nice luster.

I am in no way a “Morgan” kind of guy, but that coin seems pretty average for the grade. I would say it gets a green bean.

    Thanks for the summary!

In looking over the results where a majority said the coin would not sticker the prospective buyers will be the ones who decide if the coin is even worth buying / worth a CAC premium. The laggard coins (even though stickered)will either be discounted or linger in inventories. This material won’t attract strong offers off the bourse either. The PQ material like Rd 3 should bring strong money.

It may nice to get a sticker but does not guarantee it will sell at retail or a premium. Ultimately its the marketplace that will decide.

RD 3 1939 Oregon was a slam dunk while RD 2 1935 50c bounced off the rim in terms of getting majority yes votes.

Consequently it’s important know how look at coins CAC or not.

Personally, I don't favor a coin if it has a bean. It has to meet my criteria; usually sharp strike, eye appeal, price.

I think the Morgan a green bean. Typical baggy 63 with good luster and eye appeal

I'd like it better without a couple of those deeper marks on the cheek. But I'll guess it nabbed a green bean.

Of course you'd say green, unless you change your CT name to gold18.

I don't see why the Morgan wouldn't have a bean, so I say yes.
