I just bought an unusual error with very poor pictures from a seller with zero transactions on eBay.... What the worst that can happen? Also important to note that I was able to beat out exactly zero other bidders for this beauty.

Not everthing that looks unusual or different makes it a mint error. Could be an altered damaged coin.

You didn't state exactly what that "unusual error" was. Nor how it occurred during the minting process.

It’s a 1996-D Kennedy half with a retained struck through wire on the back.

I found a very cool retained struck through staple coin roll hunting a few years back. This eBay one looks cool if it is what it says it is.

I’ll post a link if I can figure out how from my phone.

We would love to see that. I'm having my doubts about it though.

Not trying to be rude, but why post this without pictures. Need Full Obv. and Rev. and of the possible error.

    Thanks

I searched ebay, wanted to see it.
    85 results for 1996 d kennedy half
    sold from 11/27/2019 thru today
No coin was sold like that one described was disappointed not to see it.

they got blasted by some other coin group about it not being what he thought it was ... a million dollar find ... instead of the discolored peed on half dollar it was ...
