There was a thread posted a few days ago regarding a questionable 1916 d merc, so I decided to watch the listing. The seller recently received neg feedback from a buyer who claims to have received counterfeit key lincoln's. Current bid on the 16 d is $365.00 and $20.50 on the 42/1. The seller denies the lincolns are illegitimate and offers money back. Don't think this is a real surprise to anyone in here, just an FYI.
So who has a feedback score of -1? The seller? Does he have only one transaction, that being the negative feedback you cite?
Yeah, his first sale was apparently not pleasing to the buyer. The listing for the 1916 d is below.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250282448936
Well, in his previous cent collection sale, he did have a 1909-s-vdb, but not the much more elusive 1910-s and 1911-s I cannot believe the bids on this one are even up over $300...wow!
Somewhere on these boards, I posted a thread about the unmarked Chinese fakes without the " replica" stamp.......this is what the seller is listing.
its crazy to ask the guy selling the fake, if the coin is real ... if the seller was about to admit it was fake.. he wouldnt be selling it as real.
The seller is selling THE key date merc and has it penned as MS-63, yet states that he's not a collector... I guess the toothfairy must have gave it to him.
