I'll have to start calling you Eagle Eye. Yes it is indeed that RPM. Thanks for spotting that. Sometimes I'll check if I am looking for that. This one was not on my radar for an RPM. This RPM is not listed in the CPG. I get hung up sometimes on just using that book. I forget that there are other resources available. The CPG really stops at Buffalo nickels and the few common known Jefferson varieties. Hopefully a few of the sections get much needed additions.
@Paddy54 don't forget @heavycam.monstervam @jtlee321 these guys taught me the eagle eye approach. Wish they still posted here.
I can't capture the true beauty of this. A very nice blue toned Jefferson. Tons of luster on it as well.
The first definitely, the second negative. ETA- Haven’t seen Paddy around here in forever... hope he’s doing all right. He’s always been so generous with his knowledge.
Nickels... Do Canadian nickels count? I suppose this is the US Coin forum... I'll take a chance... I've always had a soft spot for the beaver nickel...
I have been wanting to post one of my local denomination 5 (baht) coins for a while. It is a bit bigger than a US 5 cent nickel, and is made of CN clad copper. Still seems like a "nickel" to me. This one is a bit special, circulating commemorative 50th year of reign of King Rama IX. BE2539/1996 AD.
I love Nickels right now this one is my Favorite pulled in from a group of "cull" V-nickels i got on E-bay for around $100. Zoom in because it is this photo that removed doubt that I was a Denver
The mint mark is too large to be an S. I myself think the mint mark is D that has been filled a bit. Perhaps post an image of the whole reverse and if possible a close up image of the mm.
Hope this work better first one is a bad full back, second is a close of what I really up is a S. Sorry these aren't great I new at photographing coins It seems to have the loop forward then back of a low grade S when I compare it to D which have quite a clear double back At the end of the day this was in a ~$1 each junk V-nickels so it still a nice find if its a D mint Mark
