Many of these "USPO Stamped" (7-4-1976) dates were added at a later time just to attract attention (some for $ gains). Its is hard to prove that the date is genuine as it can be post marked on a note even today. Be careful...

Back in the day, this was a very interesting catalog. I have not seen many others...

    Kathy D, welcome to CT!

It's a "collectible" in that it is more of a keepsake than something that will increase in value over time.

I have 2 consecutive SN $2 bills with the 13 cent "Liberty Bell" stamp, which were cancelled in Penn. Cost me about $4.26.

They all have the same nice tie-ins: 1976, 13, Liberty Bell, $2 (for 200 yrs). They're just nice to have. I am both a coin & stamp collector, but I did not get these with either in mind.

I have come across a 1976 $2 bill that has "Inaugural Day stamped on it . Also has the Date "Jan 20 1981, Washington DC 20013" within the circle part of the stamp that overlaps an American Flag postage stamp (15 cents). I can guess what it's about. But, I'm looking for any input/significance of this bill. Thanks

All I can say is Google the date on your note. I guess someone thought it was a day to remember.

There is a town called Tomahawk, Wisconsin with Zip 54417. Someone had a 2$ stamped with such to celebrate the bicentennial I suspect. The 2$ is defaced and probably only of interest in Wisconsin, but is still worth face 2$. A collector there might pay more for it, Jim

A very specific item, maybe if some one is looking for one of those maybe a
small premium at best, but adding a stamp and postmark actually hurts
value but $2 bills are not that popular so no harm on that front.
