This is the most beautiful coin I have ever held. The craftsmanship is truly remarkable when you consider that this coin was made over 2,400 years ago.

    From the ANA web site:

WOW! Thanks for posting the pics. Think of the stories that coin could tell.

    Wow Hobo!
That is probably the most elegant coin I have seen. Thanks for sharing your experience and photographs as these are the only way most of us would be able to see the wonderful coins.
By the way, does anyone else think that Arethusa looks a lot like our Liberty and Morgan busts?

Somewhat, but younger. More like the nymph she is and less like the mother of freedom represented on our early coinage.

Truly a great exsperience , I would of been scared of dropping that '04 Dollar , but that ancient truly was beautiful and I think a forerunner to Miss Liberty , the resemblence is remarkable , thanks for sharing .

    Gentlemen,

An individual has a proof replica of the 1794 silver dollar for sale. Since I am a newbie, what would the value be of a REPLICA? Seller claims the coin has 2 oz of sliver.

    Thanks.

If it has 2 oz. of silver thats about all it's worth , these replicas range from shody to good , and must have the word copy or replica on it , people buy it to fill that hole in their album or just to have a copy of that rare piece they will never have .
