Histman Too Many Coins, Not Enough Time!

Has anyone ever purchased coins from Delcampe.net? I'd like to purchase some of their offerings but don't know anything about the site. Additionally, some of the coins I really need are offered by sellers that don't ship to the US (for some reason). Anyone have any experience with them?

I used them a good few years ago. They are very Euro-centric, which is probably why they don't ship to the US much. My experience was ok, although the range on offer is much less than Ebay. Also they did not have such a secure payment process as Paypal, though this may have changed.

Unfortunately, they seem to have the harder to find 1966 coins I need for my set (USSR, Qatar & Dubai, Iran, & Nepal). Ebay and World Coins have been a bust on that. :(

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I've never used them, but it appears to be an Ebay-type affair.

As for sellers that don't ship to the US - it might not be something they usually do, but if you contact them and ask, they might be willing to. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't, as long as you pay for the extra cost to ship overseas.

I thought Delcampe was stamps only.

Delcampe is Belgian, and Belgium is a nice in-between country where France, Germany and the Netherlands meet. Also, most members are private sellers or small shops. That means: no guarantees, but occasionally you might chance upon something very nice for little money.

I'm finding some decently priced coins that I've placed a couple of purchase requests. Unfortunately, the more difficult coins (Soviet Union, Sudan, etc.) can't be shipped to the US by the person owning the shop (Egypt?). They are willing to sell it to me if I can provide them a different address outside of the US. Bummer!

Maybe you have family abroad who can help you? I just did this with someone who didn't want to ship outside of Germany.

I don't, but I have a friend who is from Turkey, and he has family there. I just need to see if they can ship to the U.S. Crossing my fingers.
