Coin Talk text lines too long

I don't think there is a forum for this problem, but I had to go somewhere. I haven't visited the site in at least a couple of months and now that I'm back, I find that the Coin Talk display is way too wide--it runs off my screen. Even when I use the VIEW command to shrink the text, the display is far too big to fit.

    Any solution for this?

Have you changed anything on your user profile or our computer lately...maybe resolution or something?

I can tell you the font on your post is much smaller than the rest of the font I have seen in other threads. I don't know why though.

No, RichieB16, I haven't changed anything, nor do I perceive that my font is smaller than others. But maybe somebody else will read your observation and come up with the answer. Anyway, I appreciate your interest in helping.

yeah we know about it---it was alot worse, but things have gotten better since the upgrade. What is your screen rez. set at?? 800x600, 1024x780??

Your first post in this thread is just odd because the font is so small...but your last looks normal. So, I don't know if that has anything to do with it...but it seems odd since you haven't done anything.

Here's what I see. Notice the font size in your post as compared to mine:

RichieB: How did you copy that screen shot? I used to know how to do it but have forgotten and nobody can tell me how to do it again.

Just hit print screen. Then go into a image editing program (I believe even MS Paint can do it...but I used Paint Shop Pro 7) and paste it as a new image. Then save as a .jpg.

Worked like a charm. Thanks Rich. Was going to acknowledge last night but my internet went down.

when U view the forum, does the forum take up the whole screen or just a portion of your screen? If it only takes up a portion of the screen, on the extreme upper right part of the page, there's a minus sign, a box and a red X. Click onto the box and see if this doesn't help.

I have admit that I too don't care much for the new constant horizontal scroll. It seemed like before it only happened when a user posted an oversized image that didn't follow the posting size limits and was allowed anyway. Now it's a constant horizontal scroll.

Unfortunately, some of us have to use an 800x600 screen setting because as we mature it becomes harder and harder to read tiny type, but reading a screen through tri-focals is even worse than having to horizontal scroll. Getting older isn't for sissys, it also stinks! The golden years are a myth!

yeah, something changed here alright. this is the ONLY site that i have to scroll left to right to read anything. it's an annoyance but i don't think i will re-set my computer just for one site..eh?

In HTML coding you can set the max/min width of the pages. Sometimes you leave that out and in some cases you design it so it will work best on a 1024x768 (I can't remember what the numbers are)...I think in the latest update from the Forum Co. their was a set min. width...I really doubt that it is something Peter can change just with the click of a button.

In other words - it is built into the forum software. It is what it is.

The font in the initial post is smaller because of the "" code that gunsmoke put in there. Seems that the other posts in this topic don't have that, and thus appear "normal".

If you can switch between 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions, and have usually set it to 800: Try 1024 here, and then increase the font size for the page you are viewing. The web browser window should then have the "right" width (no horizontal scrolling) and you still have a font size that does not hurt your eyes ...
