Just ordered mine. From my experience with the proof ASE's, they're always beautifully struck. I hope the Mint keeps batting 1000 on this one!
Just ordered mine today...along with my proof sets. Looking at the release schedule for this year it seems to me that they staggered several products that the average collector normally buys out over quite a period of time so as to nail you with that shipping charge several times over. I'm almost afraid to wait and order several things at once cuz you just never know what they'll run out of! Crazy!
What's worse are all the horror stories I read about folks placing their orders and then the Mint losing their orders. By the time the buyers find out, the Mint is out of stock. Presumably that's a small minority of orders, but it sure seems to be a very vocal minority !
I was happy to be able to order a 2004 in February. the first one I got last year was perfect as far I coul dsee, so I wanted another one. The rules for these seem to keep chnaging. A few years ago they set a minatge limit, and said that 31 Dec as the last order date. Last year they had a mintage limit but did not shut off on 31 Dec. Now this year they are open ended on minateg but will stop selling on 31 Dec (if not sooner). Anyway, with an open mintage they might be common, but then again people might be focusing on the nickels this year. Who knows!!
