Doh! Forgot about it and have other plans already. Will probably go to Buena Park though in 2 weeks.

How's the show going for those who are there? I was told its a little slow from a few people.

That could be good and bad for buyers...dealers might be amenable to deals...

I went with my dealer friend. Bought a couple of ancients from a "junk" box and submitted my 1945 P dime for reconsideration as a FSB.

That's why I submitted it for reconsideration. [IMG]

I'm reading reviews on the Long Beach show that it was really a downer, and not just because of Covid.
    • 25% or more of dealers gone pre-pandemic
    • Not the highe-end coins seen in past
    • Lots of non-coin tables
    • Why so close to FUN, about 1 month later ? Didn't it used to be like 3 months or so distant ?
Even CA dealers didn't bother to show. Looks like FUN is going to be the #1 show pretty soon, if not already.

Just got the Auction catalog for the PRE-LONG BEACH sale (Feb 14 & 15) this morning.

How's it compare to previous ones, if you've seen them.

Are those claiming that high-end coins and total dealers/inventory are down and falling correct ?

Well I have to admit I haven't given it a close look since the auctions were on the 14 & 15th and I got the catalog on the 21st.

Took a look and it appears that this sale mainly concentrated on gold, ancients, and SS Central America stuff. All items I'm not really interested in. There were a couple of proof shield nickels I wouldn't have minded chasing. Usually the sale has some nice copper but not this year.
