I will be leaving for Rochester, NY this Saturday - more specifically, the Victor and Canandaigua area. Anyone have a good coin shops I "need" to visit in the area?

Rochester, you're by the Lake, a good 5 hrs from me in the Albany area. Syracuse may have some good ones, but there must be something in Rochester.... Google it. The harness track in Saratoga Springs is open...Its the August place to be! Good luck in your travels, be safe.

I used to live there - 35 years ago. In-laws still live there. I am sure that I can find coin shops there. My question is is there a good (at least honest and friendly) one there.

Staying in touch will not be so easy. Their computers are 1995 variety - literally.

Pittsford is probably THE suburb. Canandaigua may have (or used to have) more monies that any other suburb.

Sent you a PM with some ideas...

As far as I know there are no regular storefront dealers in Pittsford, though I believe there is a dealer there who sells by appointment and at shows.

If you're going to Rochester, then you have to visit Beers of the World. That place was impressive!

Sorry, but beer and my stomach do not agree with each other - never have. Now the wine tours are a different story.

Lots of wineries in the Finger Lakes region, so you're in the neighbourhood.

Been there. Done that. And my in-law's ex-neighbor (in-laws moved) used to run a winery.

Best selection is at Rare Coin Galleries which is on W. Henrietta Rd. he always has a great selection.

Also there is one on Monroe Ave. in Pittsford , Ridge Rd. West in Greece, and Ridge Rd. East in Irondeqiuet.

With Windows 95 he probably doesn't need an anitvirus...Windows 95 viruses are probably long gone. LOL

I remember the Pentium 133/200 Days.

The shop in Pittsford is McCloud's Coin or something like that.

They have a slim selection in the cases, maybe if you ask they might have more. They do alot of bullion too.

Try the one on W Henrietta (maybe E Henrietta). That guy has a great selection of everything. The problem is he opens whenever he feels like it.
