please grade this and let me know if i should send this to TPG for slabbing thanks ( AJ the missing coin was found and no it wasnt funny or fun and now some others are missing )
Spock, looks like a nice XF/AU, about a 50-BN , and genuine. BUT, the bad news is, that will prolly bodybag for damage ( rim ). It won't slab except at ANACS in all probability, so.......save your $$$ and enjoy the cool 31-S Lincoln that you found in a bag !!! Spock, this bag is something else. I really don't know if you are pulling our legs or not, I have seen some good wheat bags, but nothing ever like that one.
if i was pulling your leg where would i get all these coins from? i am still thinking what a mistake it was not to buy a gold budgood bag. i could have become a millionaire if it was only 1/10 as good as this sigh BTW where do you see rim damage that little nick for a bodybag whatever happened to letting the key dates slide i tell you
I'm thinking EF-45 Light wear on the highest points. Could be the pics, but see small greenish traces of maybe corrosion? Marks under the AM in america? or just the way it toned. Overall a very nice coin.
there is only one teeny weeny bit no bigger than a pinpoint of verdigris on that coin no point sending this one to NCS probably not worth more than a 100- 150 bucks
Like Harry said Spock, marks under America and rim damage at 5:00 reverse. To help in grading these softer detail dates, a look at the bowtie where it meets the jacket, and the shoulder is a good indication of wear vs strike. Also, can you see a full ear?...Even with mushy details and soft hair, these points will be indicators. Looks pretty Au to me, there still is some mint luster around the rims near the lettering and wheats as well. The right wheat looks worn, but I think it is actually just soft die detail. EDIT Spock, your pictures have drastically improved !!
I would say at least a 100 maybe more. A hundred dollar penny is nothing to sneeze at. I have much less valuable coins slabbed. With the New Lincoln out in 09 and a redesign of the reverse possibly after that, values of older lincolns and key dates may increase more than usual.
Good night let me know if you change your mind about slabbing. should i send the 1909 ddo for slabbing to ncs or is that a no no as well
so you are saying send it to NCS? I agree with you 100 $ pennies are nothing to sneeze at i only had one in my collection before this (lincolns that is) if someone told me that in one week i would have every wheatie mintmark variety in an intercept album after i retired i would have told them they are nuts. truth is stranger than fiction. i am thinking i forgot to look for the 1943 copper that will be my next target. nothing between 1931s and 1943 copper is there? also what did you guys think about the partial 1914 D do you think its another 1914 D or some other date?
Saw that one, a close up of the date would be better. I does look like a 14 D, not as good as the other one but appears to be a d.
let me see what i can do. I was hoping you were going to say its not a 1914 D now i wont be able to sleep at night while the camera is charging. ouch
