For all those still up and active tonight.. I'm going thru a pile of mer dimes (about 25$ face value).. What dates should I look out for? I know some of the key dates, but are there specific ones that have special meaning or errors I should look for? Thanks again for all your help so far. -DJ
1916 D and if you find a roll of them keep it to yourself the last guy who discovered a roll never came back to the forum
I bet! I do have 2 1916's so far but one's date is illegible and the other has no mint mark... I suppose I'll keep searching.
Oh I'm sure not going to spend any of them, but just making sure that I don't overlook anything. I use Coin-Manage software but I've already found some mistakes in the values it gives. I'll go so far as to post a list of what dates I have and how many on just the mer dimes when I get done tonight. Maybe that'd be easier to identify possible gems.
There you are! Haven't run across you in a while. Searching through the horde tonight, huh? Best of luck!
Yeah it's been a while.. yeah almost done with the random rolls and albumns.. the proof sets will be a little quicker to go thru, so I'm looking forward to that.
28 s and 41 s have large and small varieties......45 micro s.....several ddo's 31, 31s, 35, 37, 39, 41 off top of my head.......very rare 42/1 + 42/1 d.....
hawaii or something.. that topic made me so mad. he was an active poster before he ran off though.. which was weird.
ooo, much better! after taking a look, there are non in there with a mintage lower than 6mil - and those seem to be the tough ones.
Yeah, that's what I thought. The CoinManage software put a value on them to be 1-2$ each at a G4 rating.. is that right?
wow, that's a lotta mercs. In addition to the keys, pull out all the 42 p and d coins and look at them very carefully. the 42/1 D is VERY subtle and shows just the slightest nub of a 1 poking out from the 2. You need a hand lens to see it. Looks like fun, good luck!!!
