what with all the state quarters, what will they do after the last of the 2008 come out? will they continue to mint these or will they do something else, or will they return to washy's quarter? if not, will these become the new thing to keep a hold on? i wonder if the people back in the day ever thought to hold onto all of their liberty dimes and buffalo nickels and such when they went to present day designs ^^

Been a lot of talk around here and in magazines about the mint going to National park designs on them next. Congress hasn't voted on it yet but it looks to be coming down the pike.

    To me it's getting ridiculous.
Once the state quarters are done (yes, DC and the territories too), I'm done with buying current coins in MS.
Well, I did buy the special nickels too.

The few golden dollars I have came from circulation. I won't buy them.
I'll collect coins from a National Parks series the same way.

I want my money to go into items that tell the coinage history of the US, at least the ones I can afford.
Besides being interesting to look at, they are the ones that will increase in value, at least in my lifetime.

the nat park bill passed the house a few weeks ago, and there are six more state quarters for the territories and DC next year.

If the senate fails to act on the nat park quarter bill, then I'm not sure what will happen in 2010.
