1943 P error identification request. Coin has triangular indent of some sort. The depth is deep yet the letters are flush with the rest of the letters. Im curious if this coin is anything of interest or is this common? (Newbie) thanks for the input
It looks like a lamination to me. These are very, very common on Wartime nickels because of the problems they had with the alloy. Some of the planchets (blanks) tended to split slightly or even flake off in places. Yes, it is of interest, but no, not worth very much. Still kind of neat, though.
