Okay, I was in Iran the other month and I was looking at a catalogue of Parthian coinage. One thing I discovered is that there were at least three "Unknown Kings" in the first century BC who issued coins with their faces but no names. We know when they reigned and we know what they looked like, but who they were and how they got to be Kings of a major empire without leaving any other traces is one of the great mysteries of history. I tried to put up an article on wikipedia, but it was taken down as "Unknown Ruler of Persia" is kind of vacuous. Does anyone have any information on these people and pictures I can upload?
